Make me like Monroe

Before the crowds were screaming “Marilyn!” she was Norma Jeane. An ordinary girl growing up in
orphanages and foster homes, she married young before getting a modelling contract and dying her hair
bleach blonde.

After being noticed on the covers of magazines, Norma Jeane came to the attention of 20th Century Fox.
She signed a contract, changed her name and divorced her husband.

Then, a star was born.

Marilyn Monroe went on to have a huge career. She was America’s darling and lived in Hollywood in the golden era
while acting in lead roles, modelling and singing. Marilyn also became President of Marilyn Monroe Productions.

Marilyn became an instant icon and sex symbol across the globe.

Her classic look was her red lips, cat eye, strong eyebrows and of course her signature ‘beauty spot’ and permed
blonde hair. Many people have tried to replicate her look, and still do to this day.

Marilyn Monroe was more than just a star of her time, decades after her death the world still idolises her and
will go on to do so for decades more to come.

Marilyn died at the young age of 36 as a result of ‘probable suicide’, although there have been many rumours to
the contrary.

Her unexpected death solidified her stardom around the world as an ageless beauty and Hollywood’s Golden Girl.
